Jessica Lickstein, a third-year Sociology student at UCSB, started Education+ as a free tutoring program for local k-8 students!

Congratulations to UCSB students Marcus Ortiz (Political Science) and Jeremy Zide (Economics) for advancing to the final round and qualifying to compete on a national stage!

UCSB's department of Communication has been ranked as the second best Communication program worldwide. 

The departments of Asian American Studies, Black Studies, Chicana/o Studies, and Feminist Studies each received $100,000 grants apiece from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.

Amit Ahuja, Associate Professor of Political Science at UCSB, was named by ThePrint as one of India's political thought leaders to watch out for in the next decade. 

A pioneering and career-long scholar in the field of organizational communication and the science of negotiation and conflict management, Linda Putnam, Distinguished Research Professor Emerita in the department of Communication, will be inducted as a fellow into the Academy of Management.

The division of social sciences congratulates graduating recipients of the division and university's most prestigious student honors, awarded for scholastic achievement, extraordinary service, and personal courage and persistence.
