Charles Burdick started his international career at the age of 28 moving to Paris with three days notice, working in an export-import factoring subsidiary of Carnation. A year in Switzerland followed when Nestle bought Carnation and then a career pivot into TMT (Telecom, Media and Technology) with a position at Time Warner in NY. This led to almost 20 years in London in the cable tv business, followed by a short foray into children’s entertainment at Hit Entertainment (Bob the Builder et al) and then to Comverse Technology, the Israeli tech company. Charles has extensive experience as an NED (non-executive director) in eastern Europe and Russia and is currently a consultant to the EBRD (European Bank for Reconstruction and Development) and is working with one of their investments in Bulgaria. Charles was an Economics major at UC Santa Barbara, played volleyball for UCSB and has an MBA ‘77 in Finance from the UCLA Anderson School of Business. Charles is a sponsor of the Burdick Global Scholar’s program at UCSB and an advisory Board member for the Center for Media, Entertainment and Sports at UCLA Anderson. Charles is active in the arts, theatre and photography and currently splits his time between New York and London.
