The UC Santa Barbara Dean’s Investment Fund, established through the generous support of alumni, department supporters, and the business community, offers UCSB undergraduates the opportunity to interact with professionals in the investment field and gain invaluable first-hand experience as part of an investment team. The Strategic Investment Program (SIP), developed by the Economics Department and offered through UCSB Extension, is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive foundation in the practical aspects of investing and financial economics. SIP equips students with skills and knowledge directly applicable to the investment field. The program’s certificate demonstrates to current and prospective employers that participants have received recent professional training in this area. Additionally, coursework may count toward continuing education requirements in fields such as accounting, law, and finance, supporting further career advancement.
