Economics PhD Candidate Danae Hernandez-Cortes won the 2021 Grad Slam People's Choice Award this week after giving a presentation on Environmental Economics.

The Grad Slam is an annual competition at UCSB that allows graduate students to present a 3-minute talk on their research. Winners of the award are chosen based on the clarity and compelling nature of their presentation.

Hernandez-Cortes presented her working paper, "Do Environmental Markets Cause Environmental Injustice? Evidence from California's Carbon Market."
