Sarah Eisner, '93

Dean's Cabinet Member

Bio

Sarah Eisner is a California native and a descendant of enslavers who co-founded a nonprofit organization called The Reparations Project with Randy Quarterman, the great-great-great grandson of a man her great-great-great grandfather enslaved.

Eisner studied political science (and took numerous Black Studies courses) at UCSB, earned her MS in industrial engineering from Stanford, worked as a tech executive and entrepreneur in Silicon Valley for over a decade, then left to earn her MFA in creative nonfiction writing. Her essay writing about race, privilege, mental health and motherhood in Silicon Valley led her back to reconnecting and reckoning with her maternal roots in Georgia.

Mother of two young adult sons, Eisner lives and swims a lot in Silicon Valley. She also travels often to Georgia to work with Randy.
